Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

·        Manage the month-end accounting close independently, including analysis of accruals and preparation of journal entries

·        Significant contributor to the preparation of the monthly accounting and financial reporting workbook.

·        Maintain Actual, Budget, and Forecast financial and operational data in various Financial Systems

·        Aid in the preparation of detailed Clinical Trial analysis supportive of actual progress and future impacts (i.e. Forecast Updates and Cash Planning)

·        Aid in the year-end Financial Statement Audit process through schedule creation, document preparation, and other tasks

Minimum Requirements:  Education, knowledge and skills that the "ideal" candidate would need to perform the job.

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

·        Strong Accounting close experience

·        2 to 5 years of industry experience, Biotech or Lifesciences industry preferred

·        Ability to work precisely under pressure

·        Capacity to work in a professional setting, and contribute to a cohesive team-oriented atmosphere

·        Ability to work effectively and productively with high volume of manual data

·        Outstanding verbal and written communication skills (communicate via phone and email), experience with both internal and external interactions

·        Positive and calm demeanor with an ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic and busy environment

·        Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word applications required; experience with Oracle, Discoverer and Hyperion Financial Systems preferred
